Introduction:

It is expedient to provide for the enforcement of standard weights & measures in the province of Sindh and the matters connected therewith. Wherein, all weights, measures, weighing and measuring instruments used or intended to be used in any transaction of trade and commerce are required to be verified and stamped in accordance with the Sindh Standard Weights & Measures (Enforcement) Act, 1975 and Rules made thereunder, 1976.

Future Vision:

A New scheme was prepared and introduced namely “Procurement of Mobile Testing Units for Inspection” which stands approved with the concept that Mobile vans will be procured and equipped with the Inspector’s working equipment’s making it convenient for Inspectors to conduct visit in the markets and implement the Weights & Measures Act in true letter and spirit.

This office is planning to introduce Digital (computerized) certificates of verification which will be connected through networking.
